The donation was made on Dec. 2nd at NABOR’s headquarters in Naples.

Liz Cashman served as the 2015 Chair of the Expo Committee and was the one who rang Karen Clawson, K is for Kids executive director with surprising news. Liz explained to Karen that each year NABOR holds it annual expo, “…we hope to have money left over,” Liz said, “to donate to a local charity. This year we did have, and we chose to donate the money to K is for Kids.” Not giving the amount, Liz invited Karen and foundation representatives to the event in which the donation would be awarded.

K is for Kids’ top teen leaders and student spokespersons, Gabriella Manuszak, a senior at Barron Collier High School, and Daylin Baez, a senior at Lorenzo Walker Technical High School and Lorenzo Walker Technical College were excited to be able to receive the award on behalf of the foundation, along with Kelly Wilson, business teacher at Barron Collier High School and education partner of K is for Kids; and Karen Clawson, founder and volunteer executive director of the foundation.

“NABOR’s impassioned giving will go a long way in helping K is for Kids’ youth leadership program, especially for our high school students who are nearing graduation and preparing to enter the ‘real’ world,” said Karen Clawson, K is for Kids’ founder and executive director. “It’s such a pivotal time in their young lives, and so important to their success in school and in life.  We are very grateful for NABOR’s support.”

Added to $3,000 in recent donations awarded by NABOR, including an event sponsored by its Young Professionals, the grand total of support is $13,450!
