Naples Mayor Proclaims February as “Bring a Book, Bring a Friend” Month for Children’s Literacy

K is for Kids’ student leaders from three local high schools were on hand to hear Mayor John F/ Sorey III proclaim February as “Bring a Book, Bring a Friend” Month.

This year marks the seventh anniversary of K is for Kids’ literacy month which was first proclaimed by Mayor Bill Barnett in 2008.  The Commissioners of Collier County also proclaim the literacy month each year.  Governor Rick Scott has also proclaimed and recognized the literacy month; and has thanked the young teen leaders for their efforts to encourage children of all ages to read more.
