“Fireworks Ignited In Our Hearts”: Schulze Family Foundation Grant Boosts Rising Readers Program

The Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation honored K is for Kids Foundation with a generous grant in the amount of $21,500.

The grant monies will help significantly expand the young nonprofit’s Readers and Leaders Program, especially K is for Kids’ Rising Readers program and its end-of-year Top Readers Book Awards. This is the foundation’s most popular program with principals, parents and, of course, the young honorees themselves.

“Fireworks ignited in our hearts at K is for Kids when we learned we would receive the Schulze Family Foundation grant, this is the largest single monetary contribution our young foundation has received to date! It’s an exciting milestone for our organization’s student leaders; and although the founding students are now off in college, it’s a big day for them, too. We all feel greatly honored to receive this grant and are excited thinking how our Readers and Leaders program can reach out and help more children. I’m very proud of the accomplishments of the kids on both ends of our organization.”
